Are you looking for ways to personalize your newborn session?! If so, you’re in the right place! As a Virginia newborn photographer, when you book with me, I have absolutely everything you need. From wraps to headbands to outfits, I promise there is something for everyone in my client closet. But if you’re looking for something special to include, let’s do it!
So, here are five ways to personalize your newborn session! And remember, you don’t need anything new, custom, or personalized. I promise, your baby and fine art newborn session will be absolutely perfect with or without it!
Personalized Swaddle/Blanket
These are so sweet and special. These can be wrapped around a prop to be in the background or comfortably draped over the baby. Showcase your family name, the baby’s name, or anything important to you!
This gorgeous family had a custom blanket for their baby that was so perfect! This entire session was SO sweet, and I am just so happy for this family. After their maternity session, I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby. They are SO excited to have their sweet baby boy in their lives!
Custom Beanie/Bow
Maybe you have a winter baby and are looking for a cute way to keep your baby warm. A personalized beanie would be so adorable! While I do keep my studio at a comfortable and safe temperature for the little ones, this would be such a cute touch. Or, what about a custom bow?! The sweetest personalized touch for your little one! Both the beanie and the bow can be customized to match almost any color. As a reminder, keeping colors muted, pastel, and neutral works best.
Stuffie/Lovey
This one is oh-so-sweet. Many families have cute little stuffies or lovey waiting for their baby’s arrival. If this is something important to you, bring it for your little one. They can get cozy and cuddled up!
Matching/Coordinating Outfits
While my client closet is filled to the brim with outfits, a matching and coordinating outfit is always so fun. There are tons of ways to coordinate outfits and match colors in subtle ways. Whatever you decide, be sure to stick to neutrals and avoid those harsh, intense logos or patterns. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Heirloom Items
This is probably the most common (and favorite!) way to personalize your newborn session. If you have something that’s been passed down from generation to generation or something your older babies have used, don’t forget to bring that. Whether that’s a family blanket, a custom family outfit, a bib, or any other heirloom item. These are so special and deserve to be documented with your newest addition!
