TWIN MATERNITY SESSION
Words from the Mother…..
Finding out we were expecting was a whirlwind. We had just lost a close family member and really needed our spirits lifted. We found out we were expecting and our entire outlook changed! We knew there was a chance we could have twins but didn’t really think it would happen. At the first sonogram we found out we were having twins and it was so exciting.
This was our first pregnancy so we did not know fully what to expect, especially carrying twins. However, we prepared (even pre-pregnancy) with positivity. Pregnancy is such a natural thing yet many often expect the absolute worst from the experience. We decided that we would expect the best. I believe that’s what kept the morning sickness away. My biggest struggle during the pregnancy was my wardrobe. Nothing fit! And not in the usual “nothing fits” stage of pregnancy but my belly was so big and the rest of me was still my normal size. I only bought a few clothing items and rotated them all summer. The main difference between each trimester was watching my belly grow. I had a pretty smooth pregnancy (no morning sickness, extreme fatigue, or food aversions). Each trimester we completed was a blessing, because it meant we were closer and closer to our twins being full-term.
In our second Trimester, we began looking for a photographer that gave a lot of guidance and would not have us just standing there as they clicked away. It was also important that the photographer provided gowns because I did not want to go through the stress of looking for something to wear. We searched for days on Google and Facebook for a local photographer. I do not remember how we found Norma exactly but I am so glad we did.
We were floored when we saw the maternity images! The pictures were like nothing we had ever seen before in a maternity shoot. Just from being at the location alone we knew the pictures would be really nice, but Norma truly outdid herself. My biggest fear was that we would not actually make it to the session. A few days before our scheduled session, I was rear-ended at a stop light. The car accident put me in the hospital for four days as additional monitoring had to be done for the twins. Thankfully, we were all ok and Norma was flexible enough to reschedule our session. My favorite part of the session was the time spent with my husband. I’m not a huge fan of taking pictures but I love taking pictures with him.
