I am SO honored to share this IVF maternity session today! This mama-to-be has been through it all in her journey to her miracle baby. Every journey to parenthood is so worthy of celebrating, and it is such an incredible joy to document each and every one of them.
For this maternity session in my Occoquan studio, this mama brought in her unused needles and bottles. She came to me with her original idea of having them laid around her. As we got talking, and discussing the incredible journey to motherhood she’s been on, I mentioned how much of a QUEEN she was. This journey is not easy! The strength of a mother knows no end. I decided to make her a crown, specifically “a crown fit for a mother.” IVF is no easy undergoing. The millions of appointments, blood draws, medications, injections…you name it. It’s hard! I wanted to honor this mama in a memorable way.
A recent client of mine said, “I just think your photo with the crown is so empowering for those doing IVF. It’s a really hard journey, and some have been doing it for so long and I just feel like your pic makes a powerful statement! You have little/no control in the IVF journey and your pic is giving power back to her.”
THAT is the best part of my job! Empowering not only those I am photographing, but so many more. Every session I document truly brings me so much joy. Hearing your stories, memories, and sharing your lives with me means the world to me.
