Not only do I love the flower fields, I love the maternity shoots so much! The excitement… the subtle love… the quiet anticipation… As a Virginia family photographer, this gets me every time. I am so honored to be someone who can come alongside your biggest life moments and document your family every step of the way. From a pregnancy shoot thru to those sweet newborn photos and on to all the milestones (can we have a moment for the cake smashes!!? SO CUTE). But these flower sessions, for any stage of life!, will alwayas have my heart.
Because Spring in Washington, DC is pure magic. The air starts to warm, the days get longer, and suddenly… every corner bursts to life with color. From cherry blossoms to sunflowers, this city knows how to put on a floral show.
This Tulip maternity session was everything I love about photographing in spring.
The bright red rows of blooms made the perfect backdrop to celebrate this mama’s journey into motherhood. There’s something about florals and pregnancy that just go together—new life all around, softness and strength blooming side by side.
Maternity sessions already hold such a special place in my heart, but add a field of blazing flowers and the entire vibe shifts into something extra dreamy. As a photographer, sessions like this are creatively energizing. The color, the movement, the natural beauty—it lights me up.
For this session, mama wore some of my favorite gowns from the client closet. I carefully curate dresses for comfort, movement, and maximum photo magic—and I love helping style each client based on the season and vibe of the session. Whether you’re running barefoot through a field of sunflowers or wrapped in something flowy under the cherry blossoms, or posed in a wrap in the Fine Art studio – I’ll always style you to make sure you feel AMAZING. Because you deserve it – you are growing human life, after all.
