One of my favorite things about photography is getting to document families wherever life takes them. This sweet family planned an unforgettable trip out west, visiting several national parks along the way, and I was honored that one of their stops included family photos in Joshua Tree National Park.
Travel sessions have a way of feeling extra special. They preserve not only the people you love, but also the memories made during a season of adventure. With two sets of twins, this family brought so much joy, laughter, and personality to their session. Between climbing on fallen trees, twirling in the desert landscape, and soaking in the incredible sunset, every moment felt relaxed and full of connection.
Styling for the Desert
One thing I love about travel sessions is helping families feel comfortable and beautifully styled, even when they’re away from home. Jill’s flowing floral gown from Reclamation and her daughter’s dress from Threads & Evergreen were both selected from my client closet, making packing a little easier while creating a timeless look that photographed beautifully against the warm tones of Joshua Tree.

In addition to family portraits, we spent some time creating personal branding images for mom, Jill.
