This neutral milestone session was such a joy to photograph! Every detail came together beautifully, from the soft colors to the sweet little expressions we captured. This baby girl was an absolute gem. She was calm, curious, and full of smiles. Watching her personality unfold in front of the camera was pure magic. As a Virginia family photographer, I’m obsessed with my Sitter Sessions.
All of her outfits came from the client closet, which made planning simple for her parents.
We started with a cozy textured romper in soft oatmeal tones, paired with a delicate floral headband. The neutral palette let her big, bright eyes take center stage. She was so content sitting up on her own, gently leaning forward with that curious little grin every parent knows and loves.
Next, we brought in some variety with a few cozy studio setups for her neutral milestone session.
The wood tones in the Fine Art Studio created a timeless backdrop that added warmth and depth to each image. I love mixing textures when I style your shoot. The knits, the soft blankets, and the handcrafted props all work together to create that classic, natural feel my clients love.
When she sat in the small wooden bowl, dressed in a rust-colored floral dress, the contrast was perfect. The deep tone of her outfit popped against the neutral wood tones, and her little hands gripping the edge of the bed made for the sweetest photos. Her giggles made it impossible not to smile right along with her.
Later, we switched to a simple cream romper with flutter sleeves. The delicate fabric and soft bonnet gave a timeless look that will never go out of style. She played with vintage-style blocks, rolling and stacking them, completely lost in her little world. Those quiet, candid moments are some of my favorites to capture, because I know as a fellow mom (of older kids now!) those are the moments you want captured forever.
