April 30th Mark and I hopped across the sea to Greece for 10 days!!! We stayed in Athens the first 3 days exploring the city and then boarded the Silver Cloud for a Mediterranean cruise to Santorini, Rhodes and Mykonos. Gah..I love traveling to other countries, but this country was one of the most inspiring places I have ever been. The food was authentic, the style was so crazy different and I found the people to be very welcoming. Mark and I fell in love with the greek salad… (omg the feta cheese! so.good.) The first few days we stayed the The New hotel in the heart of Athens and on the last day we ate lunch next to Lindsey Lohan – crazy! We ended up checking out later than expected so that was pretty cool my usual “pokey-ness” was in our favor that day to see someone famous.. ha!!. It was short-lived but still cool. Another favorite was the shops! You have to see the shops in Mykonos- they put so much effort to make their shop unique from the other. I’ve attached a few collages below that were taken with my iPhone, it was a little easier to carry that around than my D4s.. (open to suggestions on a great pro travel camera..something a little more compact, uses a lens and won’t forfeit shooting wide open! 🙂 )
Once or twice a year I find myself in a rut. Usually in December/January after the holiday family sessions, and then again when summer begins and Brayden and Landon get out of school. I so badly want to spend my time with them and enjoy summer. When this happens I’m looking for a change, a different perspective and traveling totally does this for me. The views, landscapes and the awesome doors I became obsessed with, made me so exited for my outdoor sessions, Mark couldn’t count on two hands how many times I told him I was dying to do a maternity session or even a newborn session at each city we visited. Could you imagine having your family session in one of these cities? A girl could dream 🙂
I was so excited to get back to my newborn sessions to try new things and start *fresh*. enjoy!
